UNITY GAME PROGRAMMING PORTFOLIO

Howard Park

Hello everybody!

My name is Howard Park and I am a Unity developer with over 7 years of experience in indie, XR, social media, and live-service products! Having recently parted from Meta, I am back looking to join a team that is interested or needs support in game programming, tech art, or network engineering.

Having shipped several products and features, I take deep pride in my responsibility to deliver and create systems that are intuitive, responsiveness, and, more importantly, easy to understand. I've made creative tools for developers, hifi prototyped mocks for designers, assisted non-game teams with game development workflows, and lead the technical design and implementation of entire game experiences.

While I have been unemployed for some time now, I am always learning and excited for my next opportunity. Right now, I am building a looter shooter game and will be attending some jams to meet others who share the same drive as I do and make meaningful connections.

Outside of that, I love competitive games like Overwatch, League of Legends, Arc Raiders, and Marvel Rivals, do brazilian jiu jitsu, barista part-time, and mod my Acura RSX (a project car is a forever car).

If you're interested in a chat or want to connect, please feel free to reach out!

Meta Horizon Worlds - Technical Artist

Supported the visual development and production of portals and worlds for Meta's Horizon Worlds. Below are some of the portals I worked on from parallaxing, shaders, and animations.

FiveMics - Network Engineer

Worked with the CEO to digitize a hip-hop themed collectible card game, shipping onboarding and authentication (desktop, Google, Apple via AWS) and contributing to early system design and scoping.

Ultraviolet - Unity Lead / Network Engineer

When the company set out to build a metaverse on top of its existing social app, I stepped in as the Unity lead—helping the team transition into game development and adopt Unity workflows. Drawing on prior multiplayer experience, I led development of several multiplayer games and social experiences, and helped architect a backend solution to integrate existing user profiles into our gameplay systems for matchmaking, analytics, and rewards.

Below is one of many games we were able to accomplish in 6 months: an orb collecting party game where 10 players compete to get the most orbs while avoiding being hit by other players.

Evara VR - AR Unity Developer

Developed several XR features including facial tracking, body tracking, and object placement for an app called AR World.

Below is a demo of some of these features as well as an AR Santa Claus experience that was featured in the South Coast Plaza's holiday campaign during COVID.

NYU Tandon Online Educational Game - "Teaming Beams"

An educational game I solo developed for NYU's Tandon Online program to teach students organizational behaviour. In this game, teams of four earn points by stacking blocks to build the tallest tower possible. The catch is, each player has a color and if the same colored block touches, they get destroyed.
